I use layers
of pigment and medium to build an image. This body of work references
our relationship to the natural world. Inherent in the range of paintings
is the acknowledgement that nature influences our designs and in turn
we design nature to a degree that has no equal in history. This body
of work ranges from charts of genetically altered seeds to silhouettes
of plants with a pop sensibility. The visual language borrows from
Japanese brushwork, CAD drawings, pop graphics, and European oil painting.
I embrace visual and cultural theory and a love affair with centuries
of painting history.
